now if only i could get comments to work. they appear in the application but not in the generated code. more iweb bugs i guess.

speaking of bugs, ssf2 hd remix has stolen the buggiest online game ever award from homm5 (which after 5 or 6 patches is pretty solid now). don’t take my word for it, look at the xbox 360 site for it:

looks pretty fucking cool, doesn’t it? closer inspection reveals the #1 ranked player this week has 1 win and 2 losses. must be THAT good. try searching for a player name. get anything? it’s a pity, because if it worked it would be truly awesome instead of utter shit. we aren’t even talking about the game itself yet, this is merely a website supposedly driven by the game’s player database. it’s a testament to how much they accomplished during the 2 year developement time and 8 month beta period. if you forget the bugs and online components that don’t work, it’s really good.

anyway, how can i stay mad at you, capcom, when street fighter 4 will be here in 3 weeks.

i’ve done away with the high maintenance, high spam, highly exploitable phpbb-based blog and am ‘selling out’ to use a cookie cutter template. but it’s not wordpress. it’s even worse: iweb. yep, i am writing this, not in a web form but in an application program.

a couple of years ago i would likely have recoiled in horror at the thought, but now it’s beginning to make sense.

should i be tethered to the internet to write a blog entry? nah.
do i have time and inclination to write and maintain a website? nah.
should i need to know html, css, php or whatever? nah.

i would have answered ‘yes’ to those questions not so long ago. this version of iweb is terrible and needs some serious work and has a million bugs but i think it’s heading in the right direction..maybe. we shall see.

now updated annually!
